From September 20th to 28th, a new festival called Zugzwang, focusing on contemporary dance and performance, took place for the first time in Klagenfurt. We spoke with festival director Dušana Baltić, as well as with the artists featured at the festival: Valentin Alfery, Marta Navaridas, and Mirjam Sadjak.

The new Zugzwang Dance Festival in Klagenfurt aims to become a national and international hub for diverse, contemporary performing arts and their latest developments. Under the artistic direction of Dušana Baltić, the festival's goal is to feature accessible and visually appealing dance and performance productions that address socially relevant themes. The audience is invited to be amazed, to feel, to reflect, and to open themselves up to new experiences.
